Job/Person Specification 

Job Title: Business Tourism Manager

Reporting To: Head of Marketing & Development

Overall Job Purpose:
To follow up on leads from the Business Tourism unit in Fáilte Ireland and deliver an increased volume of business to Dublin. To manage and co-ordinate the activities of the Business Tourism unit in Dublin Tourism.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To provide input to strategy formulation for the Dublin Business Tourism sector that takes into consideration the needs of international customers and domestic industry partners
  • To work closely with Fáilte Ireland/Tourism Ireland and other Ireland Inc stakeholders on the development of customer driven marketing and sales initiatives designed to meet business objectives in the corporate meetings, incentive and corporate sectors
  • To work with domestic suppliers and other Ireland Inc stakeholders on the formulation of supply led initiatives that will support the brand and deliver an enhanced customer experience
  • To manage the delivery of all marketing programmes across the business tourism sector
  • To develop and manage an ongoing process for measurement including metrics that cover business performance and customer satisfaction
  • To lead the internal team in the implementation of strategy to meet predetermined KPIs
  • To successfully manage the delivery of the Conference Ambassador programme including the delivery of seamless lead generation processes and agreed targets
  • To manage the budgetary development and allocation process and ensure proper controls and procedures for compliance are adhered to.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with all key stakeholders
  • To work closely with Tourism Ireland markets and all key stakeholders on the development of customer driven marketing and sales initiatives designed to meet business objectives.
  • To undertake any other duties as required

Person Specification:

  • Strong understanding of tourism marketing – a third level business or marketing qualification would be highly desirable, and knowledge of a second European language would be an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to demonstrate strong leadership and establish good working relationships will all key internal and external stakeholders involved in tourism in the region
  • Customer focused, with experience of dealing with industry groups
  • Ability to manage varying priorities
  • Self-motivated team player, with a strong level of IT literacy and analytical rigour
